Choosing a Webmaster to manage your online presence can be tricky, especially if you have no idea what he is talking about most of the time. Here are a few hints I would give based on my career working with the technically inclined. 1) Do they seem to keep their own web presence up to date, even decently well? In my experience the answer should be yes. 2) Do they posses other technical inclinations? In my experience the answer should be yes. 3) Do you easily understand their explanations? This is very important, because if they keep explaining, and you don't understand everyone gets frustrated. 4) Do you see results? This is the most important factor to me when choosing people to work with or train. Results in most cases are really not that tough to get for any type of website, if they do their research and have analytical talent. Understanding the relationship between your user, your product, and their needs goes along way towards success, but contributing to that relationship actually moves the ball forward. So what happened to all the good Webmasters? I have been looking over prospective clients website to write some proposals this weekend and it shocks me that I am see more bad websites than good. I wonder how these designers, or webmaster charge for giving their clients websites that do not actually sell their business or service. This is the largest single differentiating factor between us and our competitors. SEO should not be an option for a fresh build in this day and age, but SEO should be mandatory for all new websites, which will improve the online experience globally as we all start to find local restaurants easily or far away hotels & resorts to plan out our next trip. For this reason Zenn Media does not offer just web design services, all of our design work includes a separate keyword strategy for each page. How ever we will just do up and implement a SEO plan for your existing site if the design is new, and does not need to be changed.
